Preparing for Snow: 5 steps to protect your Outdoor Living Spaces

Snow and ice, while beautiful, can wreak havoc on outdoor living areas if you're not prepared. Here are 5 quick tips to get your space ready:

1. Clear and Clean Surfaces

Remove debris and dirt from decks, patios, and porches to prevent moisture buildup and ice formation.

2. Protect Furniture

Store outdoor furniture or use waterproof covers to shield it from snow, wind, and freezing rain.

3. Seal and Inspect

Apply a sealant to wood or composite decks and inspect for cracks in hardscape areas to avoid freeze-thaw damage.

4. Prepare for Snow-Removal

Stock up on non metal shovels and use de-icing products safe for wood and stone surfaces (and the environment!).

5. Drain Water Features

Empty fountain and other water features, and prep pools to prevent freezing and cracks.

Taking these steps will protect your outdoor spaces and ensure they're ready to shine come spring!
